Overview

Off The Record ("we," "us," "our") operates otrfragrance.com. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we handle it.

The short version: we collect minimal data, we don't use cookies for tracking, we don't run ads, and we never sell your information to anyone.

Analytics

We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-first analytics tool. Plausible does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and does not track you across websites. All data is aggregated — we see page view counts and referral sources, not individual visitor profiles.

Plausible is compliant with GDPR, CCPA, and PECR without requiring a cookie consent banner. No personal data is ever stored or processed.

Affiliate Click Tracking

When you click an affiliate link, we log the click server-side before redirecting you to the retailer. The data we record includes:

• Which product and retailer link was clicked
• Which page the click came from
• General region (country-level, derived from IP)
• Timestamp

We do not store your IP address, email, name, or any personally identifiable information as part of click tracking. This data helps us understand which content is most useful so we can create more of it.

Email Newsletter

If you sign up for our newsletter, we store your email address and which verticals you're interested in. We use Resend to send emails. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email, and we'll delete your data promptly upon request.

We never share your email with third parties, and we never send spam. You'll only receive content you signed up for.

Third-Party Services

We use the following services to operate this site. Each processes data only as needed to provide their service:

• Vercel — Hosting and content delivery. Processes standard HTTP request data (IP, user agent) for serving pages.
• Supabase — Database. Stores product data, guide content, and anonymized click logs. No personal user data.
• Cloudflare R2 — Image hosting. Serves product images with no tracking or cookies.
• Plausible Analytics — Privacy-focused analytics. No cookies, no personal data.

What We Don't Do

• We don't run ads or ad trackers
• We don't use third-party tracking cookies
• We don't sell, rent, or share your data with anyone
• We don't build user profiles or use fingerprinting
• We don't use retargeting or remarketing pixels

Your Rights Under GDPR (EU/UK)

If you're in the European Union or United Kingdom, you have the right to:

• Access — Request a copy of any personal data we hold about you
• Rectification — Ask us to correct inaccurate data
• Erasure — Ask us to delete your data
• Portability — Receive your data in a machine-readable format
• Objection — Object to processing of your data

Since we collect minimal data (only newsletter signups involve personal data), most of these rights are satisfied by default. To exercise any right, email us and we'll respond within 30 days.

Your Rights Under CCPA (California)

If you're a California resident, you have the right to:

• Delete — Request deletion of your personal information
• Opt-out — Opt out of the sale of personal information (we don't sell your data, so there's nothing to opt out of)

Children's Privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we'll delete it immediately.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be noted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.
