Full Review

Vanilla 28 is perfect for anyone who wants vanilla's comfort without the cloying sweetness that makes most vanilla fragrances unbearable in warm weather. This is vanilla with attitude — the amber and white musk create a skin-like, almost animalic backdrop that keeps things interesting. Think less bakery counter, more expensive lingerie.

The opening hits with brown sugar and pear, but these disappear quickly into a creamy vanilla heart that's supported by jasmine and a prominent white musk. The musk is doing serious work here, giving the vanilla an almost powdery, intimate quality that sits close to skin. Performance clocks in around 6-7 hours with moderate projection for the first 2-3 hours before becoming a skin scent.

What makes this stand out in the crowded vanilla space is its restraint. While most vanilla fragrances go full gourmand, Vanilla 28 stays sophisticated enough for the office but intimate enough for date nights. The amber in the base adds warmth without heaviness, making this surprisingly wearable year-round.

At $98 for 50ml, it's priced like a niche fragrance but performs more like a designer. The bottle is Instagram-worthy, but you're paying partly for the aesthetic. Still, if you've been burned by overly sweet vanillas before, this one deserves a sample — it might convert you to the vanilla camp.
