Full Review
Oriental Cherry is Dossier's interpretation of Tom Ford's Lost Cherry, and it's surprisingly competent for a clone house fragrance. The opening hits you with that distinctive maraschino cherry and bitter almond combination that made the original famous, though it leans sweeter and less sophisticated than its inspiration. The cherry here is more candy-like, less nuanced, but still recognizably in the same family. The tonka bean and vanilla base provides decent warmth, though it lacks the plush, expensive feel of real Lost Cherry. Performance is where budget shows most clearly - you're looking at 4-5 hours of moderate projection, versus Lost Cherry's 6-8 hour beast mode performance. The dry-down simplifies quickly, becoming a pleasant vanilla-musk skin scent. For date nights and cooler weather, this absolutely works, especially if you're curious about the Lost Cherry hype but can't justify spending mortgage money on fragrance. The compliment factor is real - people will notice and ask what you're wearing. Just don't expect the complexity or longevity that makes Tom Ford fragrances cult favorites. At this price point, it's an excellent introduction to gourmand orientals, though serious fragrance heads will eventually want to upgrade to the real thing.
